Nibulon loses $416 mln due to Russian aggression, cuts exports by 88% – media

KYIV. Oct 31 (Interfax-Ukraine) – As a result of the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine, the Nibulon agricultural holding received direct losses in the amount of $416 million, 20,000 hectares of its farmland are under occupation or rendered unusable by the conflict, and part of the company’s grain stores were stolen by Russian companies.

According to the Japan Times website, Nibulon reduced grain exports by 88% from March to August 2022, and 2,400 of its 6,000 prewar staff have still been unable to work, either because they’re fighting at the front, in now-occupied territories, or displaced.

Japan Times said that the agricultural holding intends to cooperate with 29 banking institutions – from commercial institutions to international financiers, such as the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, which will finance part of Nibulon’s investment in restoring its economic activity.
