Official unemployment rate fell to record low – MP

KYIV. Nov 24 (Interfax Ukraine) – The official number of unemployed in Ukraine fell to a record low of 223,700 as of November 24, which is 6.4% or 15,300 people less than at the beginning of the month, member of the Holos faction Yaroslav Zhelezniak said.

"As of November 1, we had a record low number of officially registered unemployed – 239,000 people (in June there were 316,000). As of November 24, we have a new record – 223,700 officially registered unemployed," he said on Telegram.

The MP suggested that such a low unemployment rate is associated with the departure of citizens abroad, the reduction of the unemployment payment period to 90 days, and, possibly, the lack of desire among men to apply to the military registration and enlistment office for the necessary documents.

"Many simply do not even waste time for such a short period. Now only 171,600 people receive payments. The average payment is UAH 4,600," Zhelezniak stated.

At the same time, he noted that the State Employment Agency actively employs people.

"Since the beginning of the war, 428,000 people have received the status of unemployed. Already 237,000 people have found work through employment centers," the parliamentarian said.
