KYIV. Jan 18 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The temporary protection mechanism, launched by the EU Council in March 2022, initially for one year, has been extended for another year until March 4, 2025, the press service of the Polish government said.
Persons who received a certificate of temporary protection from the Office of Foreigners valid until March 4, 2023, September 4, 2023 or March 4, 2024 do not need to apply for new documents, it said, adding that the certificates will be valid until March 4, 2025.
The regulations do not provide a legal basis for replacing already issued certificates in connection with the extension of temporary protection. The documents contain a corresponding note indicating that their validity period has been extended by power of law. Therefore, foreigners who have already received certificates can continue to use them as residence documents confirming their legal status.
