Professional participants from 2023 should create supervisory boards – stock market regulator

KYIV. Nov 30 (Interfax-Ukraine) – From January 1, 2023, professional capital market participants should start creating supervisory boards, as well as make them part of corporate governance, the National Securities and Stock Market Commission said on its website on Tuesday.

"In the transitional provisions of the Law on Capital Markets and Organized Commodity Markets, there is a mandatory provision on the establishment of a supervisory board by companies from January 1, 2023. This should become part of the corporate governance structure," the regulator said.

The regulator also added that, according to the new law on joint stock companies, boards of directors can also be created from 2023.

The commission recalled that the commission postponed the deadline for submitting internal documents on corporate governance to the regulator by 90 days after the end of martial law in the country.
