Rada adopts bill on employment contracts for SMEs at first reading – MP

KYIV. May 12 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine has adopted as a basis a bill on employment contracts for small and medium-sized businesses (SMEs), MP Yaroslav Zhelezniak has said.

"We corrected ourselves a little before the business for the failure of the recent bill (No. 5388) on labor law. The Verkhovna Rada supported main deregulation bill No. 5371 on employment contracts for small and medium-sized businesses," he said on the Telegram channel.

The MP said that some 246 parliamentarians voted for the bill at first reading at the parliamentary meeting on Thursday, with the required 226 votes.

According to the bill, an employment contract can be concluded between an employee and an employer, which is a small or medium-sized business under the law with the number of employees for the reporting period (calendar year) no more than 250 people.

In addition, the contract may be concluded between an employer and an employee whose monthly salary is more than eight times the minimum wage established by law.
