Ristone Holdings builds new site for keeping 200 cattle

KYIV. Nov 8 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The agrarian group Ristone Holdings has built and put into operation a new site for keeping 200 cattle at its Gorky Agrofirm (Dnipropetrovsk region).

As reported on the website of the agricultural holding on Tuesday, since the beginning of 2022, it has managed to increase the total number of cattle by 40%, up to 800 animals, among which 15-20% are highly productive cows with a milk yield of more than 35 kg of milk per day.

According to Ristone Holdings, there are also plans to build housing for expansion of the dairy herd in the future, after which the breeding stock will be transferred to the newly built site.

"Summing up the preliminary results of 2022, we can say with confidence that this livestock project was not launched in vain. If we ended 2020 with profitability indicators at the level of 10-15%, and in 2021 we talked about the result 2 times higher – 20-30%, then 2022, the most difficult year in the history of Ukraine, is ending with a result of more than 30%," the holding said in a statement.

At the same time, Ristone Holdings noted that by the end of 2022, a slight decrease in an annual milk yield per cow to below 9,000 kg is expected, mainly due to interruptions in feed supplies in the first three months of the Russian invasion of Ukraine.

Ristone Holdings is an agricultural vertically integrated holding.

Prior to the Russian invasion, Ristone Holdings cultivated 65,800 hectares in Dnipropetrovsk, Kharkiv and Zaporizhia regions. The agrarian group grows grain and industrial crops, is engaged in animal husbandry, production and wholesale and retail trade in agricultural products, in particular flour, bread, bakery products, etc.
