Second civilian ship enters Ukrainian port passing temporary corridor

KYIV. 18 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The Resilient Africa dry load under the flag of Palau entered at about 22:00 in the Black Sea Port water area, becoming the second civil vessel since the beginning of the war, which has reached a Ukrainian port of Big Odesa outside the grain corridor, the Marinetraffic resource testifies.

The Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority said on Facebook that Aroyat Balkers and Sersilient Africa today, September 16, were put on the pier in the port of Chornomorsk to load almost 20,000 tonnes of wheat. After loading, Ukrainian agricultural products will be delivered to the countries of Africa and Asia.

The Turkish dry load Aroyat under the flag of Palau entered the water area of the port of Chornomorsk at about 18:00. The ship was the first civil vessel since the beginning of the war, which, outside the framework of the grain corridor, reached a Ukrainian port of Big Odesa.

Earlier, Deputy Prime Minister for Reconstruction, Minister for of Communities, Territories and Infrastructure Development Oleksandr Kubrakov said that the bulk carriers Resilient Africa and Aroyat confirmed their readiness to use the route to the port of Chornomorsk to load almost 20,000 tonnes of wheat for the countries of Africa and Asia. He said that the vessels are under the flag of Palau, and their crew consists of citizens of Türkiye, Azerbaijan, Egypt and Ukraine.

He said that the corridor previously established by the navigation order of the Ukrainian Navy was used to evacuate ships that were in the Ukrainian ports of Chornomorsk, Odesa and Pivdenny at the time of the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation. Thus, since August 15, five vessels have used the temporary corridor: the container ship Joseph Schulte, bulk carriers Primus, Anna-Theresa, Ocean Courtesy and Puma.

According to Interfax-Ukraine, another ship awaits evacuation.
