Shmyhal expects WHO to actively join in supplying Ukrainian hospitals with energy equipment

KYIV. Nov 21 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal expects that the World Health Organization (WHO) will actively join in supplying Ukrainian healthcare facilities with energy equipment.

"Support in medicine in wartime is one of the government’s priorities. We discussed the needs and challenges in the sphere of medicine with WHO Europe Director Hans Kluge," he said on the Telegram channel.

According to the prime minister, the Ukrainian government is working jointly with WHO on supplying Ukrainian hospitals with ambulance vehicles and equipment.

"The key task today is to provide healthcare facilities with the largest number of energy equipment. We expect that WHO will actively join in this process," he said.

The parties also pay much attention to the development of disaster medicine and mental health medicine, as well as rehabilitation and prosthetics systems in Ukraine.

In addition, Shmyhal and Kluge discussed the extension of healthcare services for war-affected patients in regions, in particular, in Kherson region, as well as restoration of the healthcare system in the liberated territories.
