KYIV. Nov 9 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Almost half of the expenditures of the national budget in 2024 will be directed at defense and security, Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal has said.
“The national budget for 2024 has been adopted! The priorities are set clearly in the budget. We will use all our domestic resources to withstand and defeat the enemy,” he said on the Telegram channel on Thursday.
According to the prime minister, around 50% of budget expenditures will be directed at defense and security of Ukraine.
“The budget includes indexation of pensions, as well as an increase in the minimum wage. Expenditures on education will increase by more than UAH 20 billion. Medical expenses will increase by more than UAH 20 billion. We are doubling funds for the veterans support program. We provide more than UAH 40 billion to support business,” he said.
As reported, the Verkhovna Rada adopted the 2024 national budget on November 9.
