Some 51 financial companies leave non-banking financial market in Nov, one participant added – NBU

KYIV. Dec 7 (Interfax-Ukraine) – A new insurance broker appeared on the non-banking financial services market of Ukraine in November, while 51 companies were excluded from the registers, according to the website of the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU).

At the same time, 17 financial companies, seven credit companies, one insurance company and a pawnshop voluntarily left the register, and 16 financial companies, six insurers, two pawnshops and a leasing company were excluded from it, the National Bank said.

According to the regulator, the number of participants in the non-banking financial market in November decreased to 1,522. Among them, there are 117 non-life and 13 life insurers, 187 pawnshops, 166 credit unions, 103 leasing companies, 806 financial companies, 63 insurance brokers and 67 collection companies.

The number of banks remained at 67 as of November 30.

There are 24 banking groups, 23 non-banking, 38 state payment systems, including state and 16 international ones (all without changes) operating in the payment market.

The NBU also notes that in November, 21 financial companies, one insurer, one pawnshop and six credit unions canceled all licenses voluntarily (based on their applications), and those of 17 financial companies, seven insurers and three pawnshops were forcibly annulled (as a measure of influence).

In October, the National Bank received 403 requests from market participants for registration and licensing activities. The number of requests about financial companies, pawnshops and lessors amounted to 267. The number of applications about credit institutions (banks and credit unions) was 53, about insurers – 74, payment institutions – nine.
