By KYIV. Dec 19 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The Japanese side will allocate a grant in the amount of EUR 4 million for the needs of the Sophia of Kyiv National Reserve, the press service of the Ministry of Culture and Information Policy of Ukraine reported on Friday.
"A grant from Japan regarding assistance to Sophia of Kyiv in the amount of EUR 4 million has been announced," Culture Minister Oleksandr Tkachenko said at a briefing in Kyiv after the results of his visit to France, where he met with UNESCO Director-General Audrey Azoulay.
"UNESCO is coordinating assistance to Ukrainian institutions in the supply of necessary materials for institutions affected by the war, in particular, we are talking about the supply of generators. They have already begun to arrive. From Canada, Latvia, Poland. It is very important that UNESCO helps coordinate these efforts from the institution to the institution," the minister added.
During his visit, together with First Lady Olena Zelenska to France, a memorandum of cooperation was signed between the Louvre, the Ministry of Culture and the Ukrainian Embassy in France. The document includes points on the introduction of Ukrainian-language audio guides in the Louvre, as well as on partnership projects with Ukrainian museums, which will include scientific analysis programs, the organization of a temporary exhibition at the Louvre, and the publication of a scientific study on Ukrainian art.
"We agreed on cooperation in organizing an exhibition in the Louvre, and also presented a rather ambitious project of seven Ukrainian museums Ukraine. Out of blackout. This is an exhibition of the millennium of Ukrainian heritage at the leading venues in the world. I really hope that this issue will be resolved next year, in particular, within the seasons of Ukrainian culture in France, which we are planning for September 2023," Tkachenko said.
He discussed with his French colleagues the need to organize an international security information forum, within which experts will be able to discuss a range of various issues related to the fight against Russian propaganda and information security in general. "I really hope that this will happen soon. We see from the studies of our European colleagues that Russian narratives continue to spread. It is the French who are ready to act as leaders on the issue of information security," Tkachenko said.
