State Restoration Agency will develop road lighting concept with Signify Netherlands B.V.

KYIV. Jan 18 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The State Agency for Restoration and Infrastructure Development will develop a concept for modernizing the road lighting system of a network of public roads of national importance in cooperation with the world leader in this field, Signify Netherlands B.V., said the head of the agency, Mustafa Nayyem.

“Today the Restoration Agency have signed a memorandum with Signify Netherlands B.V., which imports products from the lighting manufacturer Philips to Ukraine. The goal is to create a concept for modernizing the road lighting system of the network of public roads of national importance in Ukraine,” he said on Facebook on Thursday.

It is clarified that the project provides for non-state financing.

It is also reported that the lighting concept will be built around the creation of energy-efficient lighting, which will save budget funds on electricity costs and the operation and repair of lighting systems on highways.

Signify Netherlands B.V. (until 2016 – Philips Lighting N.V) was founded because of the division of the Philips business into two divisions: one focused on healthcare and medical technologies, the other on LED lighting. The company produces stage lighting devices, lamps, LED systems, and lighting systems for the entertainment industry. The Philips brand is the flagship of its portfolio of brands.

In 2022, the company generated sales of EUR7.5 billion. The number of employees is about 35,000. Signify Netherlands B.V. is represented in more than 70 countries around the world.
