KYIV. Jan 17 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Revenues to the general fund of the state budget from excise tax on excisable goods produced in Ukraine and imported amounted to UAH 103.4 billion in 2023, which is 15.5% more than planned by the Ministry of Finance, and 31.8%, or UAH 25 billion more than was collected in 2022, the press service of the State Tax Service reported.
“Income targets were achieved due to additional revenues from excisable goods produced in Ukraine,” the department clarified.
According to the State Tax Service, excise taxes from the sale of tobacco and tobacco products were received for UAH 14.9 billion, or 32.5%, more than the plan (UAH 46 billion), alcoholic beverages – by UAH 3.7 billion, or by 86.5%, more than the plan (UAH 4.3 billion).
At the same time, in December 2023, revenues to the state budget from excise tax amounted to UAH 8.2 billion, which is 104.2% (an additional UAH 300 million) more than the revenue expected by the Ministry of Finance. Of these, an additional excise tax was received on tobacco and tobacco products – UAH 1 billion, alcoholic beverages – UAH 420 million, wine products (without added alcohol) – UAH 40 million.
