KYIV. Oct 24 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Ruslan Stefanchuk has called on representatives of the parliaments of the countries participating in the International Crimea Platform to develop legal mechanisms for the use of frozen Russian assets.
“We are grateful for the decision to freeze Russian assets abroad, but these are only frozen assets. So, this is certainly a complex issue and today in most legal systems there is no clear answer on how to use these assets … We are legislators and it is our job to look for and create legal algorithms to solve complex issues. Therefore, I encourage all of us to take up this work,” Stefanchuk said at the second parliamentary summit of the International Crimea Platform, which is taking place in Prague (Czech Republic) on Tuesday.
