UDP wins HBIS Serbia tender for transportation of 500,000 tonnes of cargo

KYIV. Jan 5 (Interfax-Ukraine) – State-owned PrJSC Ukrainian Danube Shipping Company (UDP) has won the contract of HBIS Serbia, one of the largest European metallurgical producers, for the transportation of more than 500,000 tonnes of cargo.

"The contract provides the UDP fleet with stable operation throughout the year," the company said on its website on Wednesday.

According to the company, the tender was held among the leading shipping companies of the Danube River.

According to UDP General Director Dmytro Moskalenko, the partners admit the possibility of increasing the volume of traffic.

"The victory of the UDP once again showed that investments in the construction/modernization of the fleet are absolutely economically justified. There is more than enough work on the Danube River. Therefore, this year we are focusing on this direction," Moskalenko said.
