Ukraine continues to export foodstuffs, despite Russia's restrictions on inspections under grain initiative

KYIV. Jan 5 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Six vessels with foodstuffs departed Ukrainian ports on Thursday, the Ministry for the Development of Communities, Territories and Infrastructure reported on its Telegram channel.

According to the report, six ships with 355,000 tonnes of foodstuffs on board left the ports of Big Odesa, and another 13 ships (282,000 tonnes of foodstuffs) are being loaded.

In addition, the ports are preparing to receive another six ships that follow the grain corridor.

"In the Bosphorus, 102 vessels are waiting for the inspection of the Joint Coordination Centre. The Russian side continues to slow down inspections under any pretext, limiting the export of Ukrainian agricultural products to world markets," the ministry said.

According to the ministry, since August 1, 2022, 626 ships left the ports of Big Odesa, which exported 16.8 million tonnes of Ukrainian food to the countries of Asia, Europe and Africa.
