KYIV. May 16 (Interfax-Ukraine) – President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky and Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Andriy Yermak met on Saturday with a delegation of the U.S. Senate, during which they discussed tougher sanctions against the Russian Federation, continued pressure on its banking sector and its recognition as a sponsor of terrorism.
"Today, together with President Volodymyr Zelensky, I met with a delegation of the upper house of the U.S. Congress, headed by leader of the Republican minority in the Senate, Mitchell McConnell. We need to continue pressure on the Russian banking sector. The President stressed that Ukraine is counting on U.S. support for further tightening of sanctions and recognition of Russia as a state sponsor of terrorism," Yermak wrote on Telegram on Saturday.
