KYIV. May 9 (Interfax-Ukraine) – In January-April 2023, Ukrainian metallurgical enterprises reduced the production of general rolled products, according to recent data, by 56% year-over-year, to 1.512 million tonnes.
According to the information of the Ukrmetalurgprom association on Tuesday, over the first four months of 2023, steel production decreased by 54% compared to January-April 2022, to 1.809 million tonnes.
Iron smelting over this period decreased by 54%, to 1.747 million tonnes.
As reported, Ukraine in 2022 reduced the production of general rolled products by 72% compared to the previous year, to 5.350 million tonnes, steel by 70.7%, to 6.263 million tonnes, cast iron by 69.8%, to 6.391 million tonnes.
In 2021, some 21.165 million tonnes of cast iron were produced (103.6% compared to 2020), some 21.366 million tonnes of steel (103.6%), and 19.079 million tonnes of rolled products (103.5%).
