By KYIV. Nov 9 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Ukraine in January-October of this year reduced the export of pig iron in kind by 3.2% compared to the same period last year, to 1.113 million tonnes.
According to statistics released by the State Customs Service, for the specified period, pig iron exports in monetary terms reached $423.414 million (a decrease of 26.3%).
At the same time, exports were mainly to Poland (56.20% of supplies in monetary terms), Spain (22.64%) and the United States (6.24%).
In January-October 2023, Ukraine imported 79 tonnes of cast iron worth $132,000 from Germany (50.38%) and Brazil (49.62%), while in October the import of cast iron reached $1,000. In the same period last year, 16 tonnes were imported cast iron from Germany for $29,000.
