KYIV. Jan 18 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Ukraine Development Foundation, which is being created in cooperation with BlackRock and JP Morgan, will be launched in the first half of this year, most likely before or by the opening of Ukraine Recovery Conference 2024, which is scheduled for June 11-12 in Berlin, Deputy Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Rostyslav Shurma has said.
“Our realistic timing today is by the middle of this year,” he said during a panel discussion at Ukraine House Davos organized by the Victor Pinchuk Foundation, Horizon Capital and WNISEF on Thursday.
He also recalled that primarily the launch of the foundation was planned in the second half of 2023, however it was postponed due to the lack of seed capital as the real situation at the front was different from the expectations by that time.
“We are talking about half a billion of target capital. We will work on increasing this sum. Our goal is a billion. But I don’t know, maybe the situation will change by 2025,” the official said.
Shurma expressed hope that the project, in cooperation with the private sector, will attract several billions in additional investment in Ukraine.
