Ukraine exports over 7 mln tonnes of agricultural products in Dec 2022 – UAC

KYIV. Jan 2 (Interfax-Ukraine) – In December 2022, Ukraine exported 7 million tonnes of agricultural products, which is 2% lower than in the previous month, according to the Facebook page of the Ukrainian Agribusiness Club association.

"3% of these exports were carried out using the "grain corridor," the rest – by alternative export routes. However, it must be taken into account that not all products managed to physically cross the border. Many products are now in queues for export both by rail and by road, which will negatively affect export performance by alternative routes next month," the association said.

It noted that in December 2022, some 4.9 million tonnes of grain crops were exported, which exceeds November figures by 4%. In terms of crops, 3.09 million tonnes of corn (63% of the total), 1.67 million tonnes of wheat (34%) and 147,000 tonnes of barley (3%) were supplied to foreign markets.

Ukraine also exported 868,000 tonnes of oilseeds during this period, a third less than in November. Some 295,000 tonnes of sunflower seeds (34%), 251,000 tonnes of soybeans (29%) and 217,000 tonnes of rapeseed (25%) were delivered abroad.

The association also clarified that the export of vegetable oils in December decreased by 9% compared to the previous month – to 468,000 tonnes, of which 94% of supplies fell on sunflower oil (440,000 tonnes) and 6% on soybean oil (29,000 tonnes). In turn, the export of sunflower and soybean cake and meal increased by 58% – up to 506,000 tonnes, including 90% was sunflower processing waste (455,000 tonnes), and 10% – soybeans (51,000 tonnes).
