Ukraine extends embargo, other import restrictions on Russian goods for another year

KYIV. Jan 2 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Ukraine has extended until 2023 trade sanctions against Russia, first introduced at the end of 2015 as a response to restrictive measures by Russia: a ban on the supply of a significant list of Russian goods to the country and the rejection of zero rates that were in effect under free trade regime.

Relevant government resolutions No. 1448 and No. 1450 of December 27 are published on its website.

Ukraine introduced the trade embargo against Russia as a response to the Russian embargo imposed on Ukrainian goods since 2016.

In addition, since January 2, 2016, the so-called WTO "most-favored regime" has been in effect for Russian goods, which provides for the application of higher import duty rates instead of a zero rate that was in force on some Russian goods in accordance with the free trade agreement between the CIS countries.
