Ukraine receives 10,500 tonnes of medical humanitarian aid from 35 countries of world during martial law

KYIV. Jan 11 (Interfax-Ukraine) – During the period of martial law, Ukraine received 10,500 tonnes of medical humanitarian aid for a total of UAH 12.85 million.

According to the Ministry of Health, humanitarian aid came from more than 35 countries, international and partner organizations, Ukrainian and foreign businesses, and directly from medical institutions of other countries.

In particular, Ukraine received more than 480.5 million units of medicines, more than 133 million units of consumables and personal protective equipment, more than 302,000 pieces of equipment, more than 137,000 units of completed tactical first aid kits, and 405 units of medical transport.

The ministry notes that humanitarian aid is distributed not only to healthcare institutions subordinate to the Ministry of Health, but also to municipal and departmental institutions, including those subordinate to security and defense structures. Humanitarian aid is distributed according to priority, first of all, to cover the needs of medical facilities located in the war zones and near them, as well as those involved in the treatment of the wounded and to medical facilities in regions with a large number of IDPs.

"Humanitarian aid is unloaded at warehouses near the state border, where it is taken into account, and then distributed and delivered to the regions, given priority. The collection of medical needs, the accounting of leftovers and the distribution of medical humanitarian aid go through the information and analytical system MedData," the Ministry of Health emphasizes.
