Ukraine receives EUR 200 mln loan from the Netherlands

KYIV. Dec 20 (Interfax-Ukraine) – On Tuesday, Ukraine received a EUR 200 million loan from the Netherlands on concessional terms through the Administrated Account of the International Monetary Fund (IMF)., the Ministry of Finance has reported.

According to its release, interest is accrued on the loan amount at an annual interest rate equal to the IMF basic rate of charge (the rate was fixed at 3.641% per annum).

The final repayment of the loan is carried out 10 years from the date of loan sampling (taking into account the grace period of deferment of loan repayment for a period of four and a half years from the date of loan sampling), the Ministry of Finance said.

The loan funds are intended for financing expenditures of the general fund of the State Budget, the ministry said.

As reported, early July this year, the Netherlands announced its decision to provide another EUR 200 million to Ukraine through the IMF account. "The funds will be spent on the current needs of the authorities of Ukraine, for example, on the salaries of civil servants, teachers, doctors," Minister for Foreign Trade and Development Cooperation of the Netherlands Liesje Schreinemacher said at the Ukraine Recovery Conference in Lugano (Switzerland).
