KYIV. Nov 14 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The deficit of Ukraine’s foreign trade in goods in January-September 2023 grew 3.2 times compared to the same period in 2022, to $19.402 billion from $6.026 billion, the State Statistics Service reported on Tuesday.
According to its data, exports of goods from Ukraine for the specified period compared to January-September 2022 dropped by 17.8%, to $27.145 billion, while imports rose by 19.2%, to $46.547 billion.
The State Statistics Service clarified that in September 2023, compared to August 2023, the seasonally adjusted volume of exports fell by 0.1%, to $2.644 billion, and imports grew by 3.0%, to $5.37 billion.
The seasonally adjusted foreign trade balance in September 2023 was negative and reached $2.726 billion, while in the previous month it was also negative – $2.57 billion.
The import coverage ratio by exports in January-September 2023 was 0.58 (in January-September 2022 – 0.85).
The State Statistics Service said that foreign trade operations were carried out with partners from 228 countries.
