Ukrainian farmers thresh 63.2 mln tonnes of harvest in 2023 – Agrarian Ministry

KYIV. Oct 27 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Farmers from all regions of Ukraine threshed 63.2 million tonnes of grains and oilseeds, of which 43.4 million tonnes of grains, 19.6 million tonnes of oilseeds, the press service of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food reported.

According to the report, the harvest of grain and leguminous crops was carried out on an area of 8.85 million hectares with a yield of 49 c/ha.

To date, in Ukraine, the collection and threshing of barley has been completed from 1.505 million hectares (101% of the plan), from which 5.890 million tonnes were received; wheat – 22.409 million tonnes were collected from 4.695 million hectares (101%); peas – 398,200 tonnes were obtained from 154,400 hectares (103%), as well as rapeseed – 4.005 million tonnes of seeds were obtained from 1.396 million hectares (98%).

The harvest of millet is being completed, of which 178,400 tonnes were obtained from 78,600 hectares (93%), and 205,600 tonnes of buckwheat were threshed from 138,100 hectares (97%), 13.320 million tonnes of corn were threshed from 1.947 million hectares (34%).

In addition, 964,900 tonnes of other grains and leguminous crops were threshed from 332,500 hectares.

In Ukraine, harvesting of oilseeds continues, in particular sunflower – 11.074 million tonnes (10.211 million tonnes a week earlier) were collected from an area of 4.687 million hectares (86%), soybeans – 4.507 million tonnes (4.241 million tonnes) from 1.729 million hectares (91%).

Sugar beets were dug from an area of 155,400 hectares (125,300 hectares a week earlier), which amounted to 50% of the planned area. The harvest was 7.334 million tonnes.
