Ukrainian, French Defense Ministries sign agreement on mutual acceptance of govt quality assurance

KYIV. Jan 19 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine Ivan Havryliuk, during a visit to Paris, signed a technical agreement on the mutual acceptance of government quality assurance of goods, works and services for defense purposes between the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine and the French Ministry of Armed Forces.

“The signing of a technical agreement regulates the interaction between the Ministry of the Armed Forces of the French Republic as a NATO member state and the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine as a partner state in the field of ensuring the quality of goods, works and services for defense purposes and further cooperation in ensuring mutual government quality assurance of goods, works and services defense purposes under requirements of the NATO Standardization Agreement STANAG 4107,” the Defense Ministry said, citing Havryliuk.

This will also reduce the financial costs of the Defense Ministry of Ukraine when purchasing goods, works and services for defense purposes.

The department said interaction between NATO member states, agencies, institutions in the field of quality of goods, works and services for defense purposes is carried out in accordance with the NATO Standardization Agreement STANAG 4107 “Mutual Acceptance of Government Quality Assurance and Usage of the Allied Quality Assurance Publications.”

The purpose of STANAG 4107 is to meet interoperability requirements.
