Ukrprominvest-Agro grows 2.1 mln tonnes of sugar beets in 2023 season

KYIV. Dec 4 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The agricultural holding Ukrprominvest-Agro completed the 2023 harvesting campaign and dug up more than 2.1 million tonnes of sugar beets from an area of 43,000 hectares, of which 25,800 hectares of production space for the crop were allocated by the group’s own enterprises and 17,200 hectares – partner enterprises.

“The yield was 49 t/ha in the classification. The average sugar content is 18.3%,” the agricultural holding specified on its Facebook page.

The entire harvest is scheduled to be delivered to the company’s sugar factories, which are operating at full capacity. As of the end of November, the holding’s factories had already processed about 1.5 million tonnes of raw materials, from which they produced more than 155,000 tonnes of their own and 65,000 tonnes of partner sugar.

In addition, it is reported that Haysyn Sugar Factory has already produced 26,500 tonnes of syrup, which will be processed into sugar in the spring of 2024. Its production will continue.

Ukrprominvest-Agro is engaged in the cultivation of crops, the production of sugar, flour, meat and dairy farming. The group’s land bank exceeds 116,500 hectares and is located mainly in regions that have not been invaded by Russian occupiers.

The total number of cattle of the agricultural holding is 6,300, pigs – 12,000. The total elevator capacity for storing agricultural crops is 120,000 tonnes. The group’s sugar business is represented by two sugar factories in Vinnytsia region. It supplies grain processing products to Moldova, Georgia, Turkmenistan, Israel, Palestine, Angola, Lebanon, Syria, and Vietnam.
