KYIV. Jan 18 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The Ukrprominvest-Agro group of companies (UPI-AGRO) completed a 132-day sugar beet processing season, during which 2.105 million tonnes of sugar beets were processed and Haysyn and Kryzhopilsky factories produced 337,500 tonnes of sugar, the press service reported on Facebook.
“High production indicators were made possible both due to the yield of our own beets at the level of 50 tonnes/ha, and through the expansion of the partnership program Sugar Beets – a Wise Choice! About 40% of the raw materials processed by the company’s factories this season were brought by partners – beet distributors, which is a record figure for UPI-AGRO,” the statement says.
According to the information of the Ukrprominvest-Agro group of companies, in the 2023/2024 season, Kryzhopilsky Sugar Factory once again set an industry record for the volume of sugar produced by one enterprise. The plant produced 171,570 tonnes of sugar, which was the highest figure in Ukraine for all the years of sugar production.
In addition, at Haysyn sugar plant, for the first time in Ukraine, a technological scheme for removing sugar syrup for storage with subsequent processing was introduced. During the season, 48,000 tonnes of syrup were produced using this technology, from which 26,000 tonnes of crystalline sugar are planned to be obtained in the spring, the agricultural holding explained.
Ukrprominvest-Agro is engaged in the cultivation of crops, the production of sugar, flour, meat and dairy farming. The group’s land bank exceeds 116,500 hectares and is located mainly in regions that have not been invaded by Russian occupiers.
The total number of cattle of the agricultural holding is 6,300 animals, pigs – 12,000. The total elevator capacity for storing agricultural crops is 120,000 tonnes. The group’s sugar business is represented by two sugar factories in Vinnytsia region. It supplies grain processing products to Moldova, Georgia, Turkmenistan, Israel, Palestine, Angola, Lebanon, Syria, and Vietnam.
