Ukrtransleasing sees loss of UAH 59.79 mln in 2022 vs profit year earlier

KYIV. May 4 (Interfax-Ukraine) – PrJSC Ukrtransleasing Leasing Company (Kyiv) ended 2022 with a loss of UAH 59.79 million, versus a profit of UAH 276.6 million received in 2021.

As the press service of Ukrtransleasing reported on Tuesday, at the meeting of shareholders on April 28, a decision was made to pay dividends in the amount of UAH 156.33 million at the expense of retained earnings of previous periods. This is 28.6% than the amount paid as dividends at the end of 2021 – UAH 220 million.

“After the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation, the activity of PrJSC Ukrtransleasing is carried out in force majeure circumstances, and due to the blocking of the ports of Ukraine, the group is constantly in an active search for relevant logistics solutions. Lessees have partially reduced payments on their obligations, and a significant part of the rolling stock blocked due to active hostilities in the east,” the company said.

In general, during 2022, the group’s gondola cars transported 2.047 million tonnes of cargo, of which 1.49 million tonnes of hard coal (73.34%), 209,630 tonnes of construction materials (10.24%) and 181,980 tonnes of iron and manganese ore (8.89%). Grain carriers transported 253,500 tonnes of grain, including 206,690 tonnes of corn (81.53%), and 17,600 tonnes of wheat (6.94%).

It is noted that at present it is difficult to foresee what impact the consequences of the invasion and the economic and political crisis will have, but presumably they will continue to have a negative impact both on the country’s economy and on PrJSC Ukrtransleasing. The size of the company’s current losses from a full-scale invasion already exceeds UAH 200 million. In the middle of last year, preliminary losses were estimated by the company at UAH 100 million.

Ukrtransleasing remains a responsible tax payer, according to a press release. In 2022, some UAH 88.71 million was transferred to the budget, of which UAH 76.36 million was income tax, UAH 6.91 million was value added tax, UAH 2.39 million was single social security tax, UAH 2.47 million was personal income tax, and UAH 573,950 was military tax. In addition, the company allocated UAH 10 million to help the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

The leasing company Ukrtransleasing was established in 1998 on the initiative of the Ministry of Transport and the Ministry of Industrial Policy of Ukraine. The main areas of work are the provision of leasing services to interested organizations of the country’s aviation and railway transport.
