KYIV. Nov 3 (Interfax-Ukraine) – JSC Ukrzaliznytsia in October 2023 transported 2.5 million tonnes of grain by rail in all communications, of which 1.656 million tonnes were exported, said Deputy Director of the Department of Commercial Work Valeriy Tkachev at a meeting with agricultural business on Thursday.
According to the report, the share of grain cargo transportation in the total volume was 16.5%. At the same time, the average daily load increased to 75,700 tonnes, which is 44% higher than the September figure. The record for grain transportation was recorded on October 25, when more than 90,000 tonnes were loaded.
According to Ukrzaliznytsia, the top three railway stations for the transportation of grain cargo included Vadul-Siret, through which 136,600 tonnes were exported, Yahodyn – 121,000 tonnes, Izov – 101,000 tonnes.
During October 2023, some 927,400 tonnes of grain cargo were transported in the direction of seaports. The leaders in their acceptance were the port of Chornomorsk with an indicator of 442,500 tonnes, Odesa – 286,000 tonnes and Izmail – 148,500 tonnes.
