NEW YORK, UN. Oct 31 (Interfax-Ukraine) – UN Secretary-General António Guterres is working to reverse Russia’s decision to suspend its participation in the Black Sea Grain Initiative, Guterres’ office said in a statement on Sunday.
"The secretary-general continues to engage in intense contacts aiming at the end of the Russian suspension of its participation in the Black Sea Grain Initiative," the statement said.
The consultations aim at resuming the exports of foods and fertilizers from Ukraine and lifting the remaining restrictions on the exports from similar products from Russia.
The office said that Guterres was concerned about the situation and had even delayed his visit to a summit of the League of Arab States in Algeria for a day.
