KYIV. Oct 31 (Interfax-Ukraine) – United Nations, Turkey and Ukraine agreed on Sunday on an October 31 movement plan for 16 vessels that are in Turkish waters, a day after Russia suspended its participation to the Black Sea grain initiative that allowed food exports from Ukrainian ports.
In a statement, the Joint Coordination Centre (JCC) in Istanbul, where Russian, Ukrainian and Turkish and UN personnel are working, said the three delegations had also agreed for inspections to be provided on Monday to 40 outbound vessels, Reuters reported.
"The Ukrainian, Turkish and United Nations delegations agreed on a movement plan for tomorrow 31 October for the maritime humanitarian corridor of 16 vessels, 12 outbound and 4 inbound. The UN delegation, in its capacity as JCC Secretariat, has informed the delegation of the Russian Federation on the movements in accordance with the JCC established procedures. As per JCC procedures, all participants coordinate with their respective military and other relevant authorities to ensure the safe passage of commercial vessels under the Black Sea Grain Initiative," the UN press service said.
There was no movement of vessels in the corridor on Sunday, October 30. There are currently 21 vessels engaged in the Initiative that are in or near the three Ukrainian ports
The joint inspection teams concluded 11 inspections.
On October 30, six vessels began their outbound voyage but have not yet entered the maritime humanitarian corridor. The ships are said to be carrying 186,426 metric tonnes of grain and other foodstuffs.
The vessel DESPINA V is carrying 71,135 metric tonnes of corn from Pivdenny port to Rotterdam. The vessel NIKOLAOS A from Chornomorsk is to transport 46,141 metric tonnes of rapeseed to Liverpool. AFRICAN ROBIN will carry 30 500 metric tonnes of wheat from Odesa to Algeria. Also from Chornomsk to Djibouti, the vessel IKARIA ANGEL is to transport 30,000 metric tonnes of wheat. SC FRIENDSHIP from Chornomorsk transports 6,600 metric tonnes of soybeans to Egypt. In addition, the SEALOCK vessel is transporting 2,050 metric tonnes of peas from Chornomorsk to Mersin, Turkey.
