KYIV. Nov 3 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Uniper, at one time Gazprom’s largest corporate gas buyer, announced a complete halt to Russian gas supplies, the Germany-based company said in a statement.
The reduction in supplies began on June 14. The German company interprets the reduction as a violation of contractual obligations.
Following a period of interruptions in supplies of varying degrees, Russian gas supplies to Uniper have been completely stopped from Gazprom since the end of August 2022, Uniper said in a new report.
The German company previously reported that Gazprom on July 14, 2022, informed Uniper that it had retroactively declared a force majeure regarding gas shortfalls in the past and present. Uniper considered the statement unfounded and officially rejected it.
