Uzbekistan set to draw $70 bln foreign investment in five years – PM

SAMARKAND. Dec 2 (Interfax) – Uzbekistan is hoping to achieve $120-billion investment within the next five years, including $70 billion from abroad, Uzbek Prime Minister Abdulla Aripov said at a business forum in Samarkand.

"Uzbekistan has been carrying out extensive transformations in every sphere of life in recent years. We have managed to retain the economic growth despite the pandemic and the complicated situation on foreign markets thanks to the reforms," Aripov said.

Uzbekistan is hoping to increase the volume of the gross domestic product within the next decade and "to achieve $120-billion investment, including at least $70 billion from abroad," within the next five years, Aripov said.
