KYIV. Nov 3 (Interfax-Ukraine) – VEON increased revenue by 3.6% year-on-year to $2.1 billion in the third quarter of 2022, the telecom group said.
Revenue also rose 3.6% in local currencies on the back of growth of 7.9% in revenue from mobile and landline services to $1.97 billion.
EBITDA was flat year-on-year at $889 million in the quarter. EBITDA in local currencies edged up by 0.7%, and the EBITDA margin was 42.8% against 44.3%.
VEON once again has not disclosed Q3 figures for net profit and free cash flow that determine dividend payments.
Capex rose 6% year-on-year to $404 million owing to increased investments in developing telecommunications in Kazakhstan, Ukraine, Uzbekistan, and Bangladesh.
Net debt totaled $8.2 billion at the end of the third quarter.
VEON’s total number of subscribers grew 0.8% to 203.2 million for the year, including 107.1 million subscribers using 4G communication.
