KYIV. Dec 6 (Interfax-Ukraine) – PrJSC Zaporizhkoks, one of the largest producers of coke-chemical products in Ukraine and part of Metinvest Group, in January-November of this year increased the production of blast furnace coke by 17.7% compared to the same period last year – to 784,900 tonnes from 666,600 tonnes.
According to the company, in November 2023, some 69,800 tonnes of blast furnace coke were produced, while in November 2022 – 68,070 tonnes (an increase of 2.6%).
Zaporizhkoks in 2022 reduced the production of blast furnace coke by 11.9% compared to 2021 – to 737,400 tonnes.
Zaporizhkoks produces about 10% of the coke produced in Ukraine and owns the full technological cycle for processing coke-chemical products. In addition, it produces coke oven gas and pitch coke.
Metinvest is a vertically integrated mining group of companies. Its main shareholders are SCM Group (71.24%) and Smart Holding (23.76%), jointly managing the company.
