Zaporizhstal reduces output of rolled products by 60% in 2022

KYIV. Jan 5 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Zaporizhstal in 2022 reduced the production of rolled goods by 60.4% compared to 2021, to 1.304 million tonnes.

According to the information of the enterprise, steel production during this period decreased by 61.7% – to 1.491 million tonnes, pig iron – by 54.3%, to 2.010 million 9. tonnes.

In December 2022, the steel plant produced 142,100 tonnes of pig iron, 70,800 tonnes of steel, and shipped 56,700 tonnes of rolled products.

"The decrease in production levels compared to the same period of the previous year is associated with a shortage of raw materials and logistical problems caused by full-scale military operations on the territory of Ukraine. In addition, due to massive missile attacks on energy infrastructure facilities and, as a result, a shortage of power in the energy system, the plant reduced production, thus reducing the consumption of purchased electricity," the press release explains.

Zaporizhstal is one of the largest industrial enterprises in Ukraine, whose products are in great demand among consumers both in the domestic market and in many countries of the world.

The main consumers of products are manufacturers of welded pipes, enterprises of automotive, transport, agricultural engineering, manufacturers of household appliances.
