Zelensky: Blackouts are terrorists' last hope

KYIV. Dec 13 (Interfax-Ukraine) – President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky said Russia hopes for a blackout in Ukraine after each of its massive missile strikes on energy infrastructure.

As the head of state noted, after each missile strike, Ukrainians restore the energy system and do everything to bring into Ukraine as much equipment as possible, which can compensate for the damage from shelling.

"We must be aware that Russia has not abandoned this terror tactic. The absence of massive missile strikes only means that the enemy is preparing for them and can strike at any time. Although it is obvious that even without light we know very well where to shoot and what to release, Russia still hopes for blackouts. This is the last hope of the terrorists," Zelensky said in a video statement on Monday.

He also urged the population to take seriously all warnings from the Ukrainian military command and the Air Force, including air raid alerts.

"At all levels, we must be ready for any hostile intentions. And we will do everything to get through this winter," he said.
