By KYIV. May 25 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Advisor to the Head of the President’s Office of Ukraine Mykhailo Podoliak said the counteroffensive actions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine had already started several days ago, according to the website of the Italian state broadcasting corporation Rai on Thursday morning.
“The counteroffensive has already been going on for several days, there is a tense war on 1,500 kilometers of the border, actions have already started,” Podoliak said in an interview with the Italian television channel TG1.
At the same time, he said the Ukrainian side does not want to strike at Russian territory.
“We are using the weapons that you gave us to destroy Russian positions in the territories occupied by Moscow, including Donbas and Crimea… Today we have long-range missiles StormShadow, Leopards, anti-missile systems that were donated to us by France and Italy. F-16 will finally allow us to close the airspace,” Podoliak said, noting that “if we had them a year ago, the war would have ended by now.”
