KYIV. May 25 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Meta Platforms Inc. (Facebook, WhatsApp, Messenger, Instagram) became the largest payers of the so-called “Google” tax in Ukraine in 2023 paying $10.3 million and Google paid $5.7 million, MP Yaroslav Zhelezniak said on his Telegram channel on Thursday.
According to the head of the relevant parliamentary committee, Danylo Hetmantsev, in 2023 (as of May 24), international companies paid almost UAH 3.2 billion in VAT to the army.
He said that the OnlyFans platform had accrued $620,000 in tax since the beginning of the year and paid UAH 23.3 million to the budget.
“Based on the results of simplified value added tax declarations filed in the first quarter of 2023, nonresidents declared almost EUR 23.5 million and $27.1 million, or UAH 1.9 billion,” Hetmantsev said.
According to him, large amounts for January-March 2023 were also declared by Etsy, SONY, Netflix, Apple, Valve Software, and AMAZON.
The head of the committee also said that as of April 1, 2023, there were 87 tax payers, which are 30 more than a year earlier.
Hetmantsev added that the tax payment deadline for the first quarter of 2023 is June 9, so more than UAH 0.7 billion is still expected to be paid.
