Occupiers in Volnovakha agitate locals to involve schoolchildren in Russia's educational program, participate in Russian elections

KYIV. Sept 2 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The Russian occupation authorities agitate the local population of Volnovakha, Donetsk region, to involve schoolchildren in the educational process according to Russia’s program and vote for Russian candidates at the elections, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine has said.

“In the temporarily occupied town of Volnovakha, Donetsk region, and other settlements of the Volnovakha district, in the period of August 15-30, representatives of the Russian occupation administrations held agitation campaigns for the local population aimed at forced involvement of school-age children in the educational process in the educational establishments according to Russia’s program and participation in the elections and voting for candidates from the United Russia Party,” it said on Saturday.

At the same time, according to the General Staff, families that refused to send their children to educational institutions are visited by representatives of the regional departments of education, accompanied by the Federal Security Service of the Russian Federation, in order to conduct preventive conversations on compliance with the norms of Russian legislation on compulsory secondary education.

“Protocols are drawn up on improper performance of parental duties. It is reported that if three such protocols are drawn up, they will be deprived of parental rights, and the children will be transferred under the care of social services to orphanages in the Russian Federation,” the General Staff said.
