Bucharest informs NATO about fragments of drones similar to those used by Russia identified on Romanian territory for third time

BRUSSELS. Sept 13 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Romania informed its NATO allies about the ongoing attacks by the Russian Federation on the Ukrainian port infrastructure near Romania, as well as about the fact that wreckage of drones similar to those used by the Russian Federation has been found on its territory for the third time.

NATO has no information indicating any intentional attack by Russia against Allied territory, Acting NATO spokesperson Dylan White said on Wednesday.

“The Romanian Ambassador updated NATO Allies about Russia’s continued attacks on Ukrainian port infrastructure near Romania in a regular meeting of the North Atlantic Council on Wednesday. He informed Allies that fragments of drones similar to those used by Russia have been identified on Romanian territory for a third time. The Romanian authorities remain on alert and are conducting a full investigation. NATO has no information indicating any intentional attack by Russia against Allied territory,” White said in his comment.

At the same time, the acting representative of the alliance stressed that NATO stands in solidarity with its ally Romania. “The Secretary General spoke with President Iohannis over the weekend, and we continue to monitor the situation in close contact with the Romanian authorities,” he added.
