KYIV. Sept 13 (Interfax-Ukraine) – On September 12, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine and the Federal Foreign Office of Germany held a regular round of political consultations under the chairmanship of Deputy Foreign Minister of Ukraine Yevhen Perebyinis and State Secretary of the Federal Foreign Office of the Federal Republic of Germany Thomas Bagger.
During the consultations, the parties discussed the full range of current issues of the bilateral agenda, paying a special attention to maintaining the dynamics of the political dialogue, strengthening military assistance from Germany, Ukraine’s accession to the EU and NATO, implementation of the Peace Formula initiated by President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy, as well as preparations for the Ukraine Reconstruction Conference (URC2024) in Germany in 2024, the Foreign Ministry’s press service said.
Perebyinis noted the high level of bilateral relations and expressed gratitude to the German side for its comprehensive support of Ukraine in the struggle against the Russian aggression. In this context, a special attention was paid to the autumn-winter period and possible Russian terrorist attacks on the energy and critical infrastructure facilities in Ukraine.
Bagger, for his part, emphasized the importance of the political consultations format between Foreign Ministries of the two countries and assured of Berlin’s readiness to continue to provide Ukraine with the necessary assistance.
