Around 26,000 pilgrims arrive in Uman – local authorities

KYIV. Sept 14 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Around 26,000 pilgrims have arrived in Uman, Cherkasy region, to mark Rosh Hashanah, Head of Uman District State Administration Ihor Myklaschuk has said.

“Around 26,000 Hasidic Jewish pilgrims have arrived. We are expecting more than 30,000 to come,” he said on the air of the national telethon on Thursday.

Myklaschuk also said that before the coronavirus pandemic the number of pilgrims was approximately the same, around 22,500 in 2022, that is why the local authorities already have experience of receiving such a number of pilgrims.
