By KYIV. Sept 15 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal has said that the security and defense budget for 2024 will be increased if necessary.
“As for increasing the military budget. This year, the security and defense costs are envisaged at the level of UAH 1.543 trillion… The budget has been formed now with the assumption that the war will last for twelve months. That is how we calculated the yearly budget. If it is necessary to increase the security and defense budget, we will increase it next year,” he said at a press conference on Friday.
The prime minister also said that the government understands how to find additional funds in case of necessity.
