Zelenskyy, Guterres discuss prospects for resuming the work of Black Sea Grain Initiative

KYIV. Sept 20 (Interfax-Ukraine) – President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy, on the sidelines of the 78th session of the UN General Assembly, discussed with Secretary General António Guterres the prospects for resuming the work of the Black Sea Grain Initiative, the website of the head of state has reported.

“The parties discussed the prospects for the resumption of the Black Sea Grain Initiative,” the statement said.

Zelenskyy thanked the UN Secretary General for supporting Ukraine’s efforts to ensure the stability of food markets and exports.

Zelenskyy also drew the UN Secretary-General’s attention to the use of Iranian drones by the aggressor state to attack Ukraine’s port and agricultural infrastructure.

In addition, the head of state thanked the UN for the efforts to minimize the consequences of the full-scale Russian aggression and expressed hope for further active assistance from the Organization in the swift response to the pressing needs of the Ukrainian people in the humanitarian sphere.
