Poland appoints new ambassador to Ukraine – Polish Foreign Ministry

KYIV. Oct 25 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Polish Foreign Minister Zbigniew Rau handed over an order to appoint a new ambassador to Ukraine, he will be Jarosław Guzy, the Polish Foreign Ministry said on Tuesday on X network.

Guzy, 68 years old, is not a career diplomat and studied history and sociology at the Jagiellonian University. He was in active opposition to the communist regime, during martial law (1981-1983) he was interned from the country for one year, after returning he and his wife were under the supervision of the Security Service. Later he studied at Yale University and interned in the U.S. Congress. In recent years he worked as an expert on international relations at the Polish Press Agency (PAP). Married to Agnieszka Romaszewska-Guzy, journalist, director general of the Belsat company.
