KYIV. Oct 27 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Ukrainian troops made little progress on the left bank of Kherson region and continued offensive operations in Bakhmut region, as well as in the west of Zaporizhia region, according to a review by the American Institute for the Study of War (ISW).
It is noted that geolocation footage published on October 25 shows how Ukrainian troops have advanced slightly north of Pidstepne (15 km east of Kherson).
According to ISW, Ukrainian forces maintain positions in Krynky (30 km east of Kherson and 2 km from the Dnipro River) and continue to move small groups of reinforcements to the area.
At the same time, according to Institute analysts, the loss of heavy Russian equipment in Avdiyivka area will likely undermine the offensive capabilities of the Russian army in the long term.
It is reported that since October 10, the Russians have lost 5,000 people killed and wounded and 400 armored vehicles in the area of Avdiyivka and Maryinka (southwest of Donetsk). Satellite images also confirmed that between October 10 and October 20, the Russian military lost at least 109 armored vehicles and tanks in Avdiyivka area.
