By KYIV. Oct 28 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The assassination attempt on MP of the Verkhovna Rada of the IV-VII convocations Oleh Tsarev, suspected of high treason, is a special operation of the Security Service of Ukraine, an informed source told Interfax-Ukraine.
“He has long been on the list of traitors who must answer for their crimes. Tsarev is a completely legitimate target. He is not just a fanatic of the “Russian world,” but a person who personally came to capture Kyiv with Russian tanks,” the agency’s interlocutor said.
Details of the special operation have not been disclosed. As of today, it is reported that Tsarev was hit by two shots from a firearm.
According to operational information, Tsarev’s condition is critical. “Doctors are fighting for his life, but there is a high chance that he will go to Kobzon’s concert,” the agency’s source said.
As reported, in May, the Security Service collected new evidence of the guilt of former MPs from the Party of Regions Oleh Tsarev, Dmytro Sviatash, and Ihor Markov, who assisted the occupiers in waging an aggressive war against Ukraine. Investigators informed all three defendants of suspicion under Part 2 of Article 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (high treason committed under martial law). Ex-MPs are hiding from justice on the territory of the aggressor country.
According to investigators Tsarev collaborated with the leadership of the Russian Ministry of Defense after the start of the full-scale invasion. He conveyed information to the aggressors about the consequences of enemy air strikes on the territory of Ukraine, in particular, about the results of missile attacks on the Kremenchuk oil refinery.
